Small tree about 5 m tall when grafted onto standard tree. The crown is bulbous, compact and densely branching. The leaves are dark green with broad, cream-coloured edges. The young shoots are reddish and contrast well with the variegated leaf. The variegated leaf is rather sensitive to sunburn during hot, sunny periods in the summer. Thanks to its small size and compact crown, ‘Carnival’ is very suitable for use in narrow streets, on squares and in smaller gardens. Does not grow well enclosed by paved surfaces.
