Vigorous, medium-size tree with a regular, pyramidal crown. The first year twigs are dark brown to purple. The older bark is white and barely peels. The leaf emerges brownish red and turns reddish brown during the summer. Depending on the location, it can turn yellow to orange in autumn. Originated from a cross between B. populifolia ‘Whitespire’ and B. pendula ‘Crimson Frost’. It is a strong tree that grows well. The combination of a white bark with dark leaves make it good for use as a solitary tree or in small groups. Also suitable as an avenue or street tree, due to the pyramidal crown.
