The flowers in bud are carmine coloured but turn dark lilac-pink to pale lilac-red after opening: they are single. The diameter of the flower is approx. 4 cm. The fruit is bright red and remains hanging in the tree until mid-October. Diameter of fruit 2 - 3 cm. Can be used in parks, public gardens and small gardens.
