Mikinori' is a fairly sturdy shrub with a broadly upright, later more rounded crown to over 2.5 m. The leaves are broadly elliptical, about 3.5 cm long and have a pointed tip. The leaf margin of the dark green leaves is coarsely double serrated. The leaves turn deep red in autumn. In the first half of April, the very pale pink flowers open and glow white, with purple-red calyxes standing out. The flower buds are darker pink. The flowers are about 2 cm in diameter and single to semi-double.
'Mikinori' was imported as an unnamed selection from Japan by the Boskoop Nursery Research Station in 1979. The plant flowers richly at a young age and proved to be an addition to the assortment. It was then decided to give the plant a cultivar name. In 1989, 'Mikinori' was introduced by the Research Station. Hardiness zone 6b.
