Prunus padus 'Watereri' has a fairly open rounded crown. It grows somewhat faster than the species. Height 6 - 10 m. The dull brown to brownish-grey branches smell of bitter almonds when damaged. The dark green leaves are oval to obovate and have a finely serrated edge. Flowers in April and May, producing fragrant white flowers in pendulous bunches. The bunches are significantly longer than those of the species – approx. 20 cm. Black berries follow the flowers. Street, avenue and park tree. Winter hardiness zone: 3
