Small to medium size tree, initially broad and columnar, ovoid when mature. The dark green leaf is somewhat less undulate than normal in the species. It has a somewhat bronze colour in spring. The leaf is fairly resistant to mildew and gall mite, and completely so to red spider mite. A good avenue tree for use on green belts, road verges, narrower streets, housing estates and squares. Does not grow well enclosed by paved surfaces. ‘Lienco’ was discovered by M. Hendriksen but marketed by Handels Coöperatie Lienden.
