Healthy tree with a uniform crown to approx. 20 m tall and 10 m spread. Initially has a pyramidal crown with a continuous trunk and ascending branching. Later the crown spreads becoming oval to ovoid. The young twigs are green with reddish brown, mature bark is dark brown and grooved. The leaf is virtually round with a heart-shaped base and abruptly pointed tip. It is dark green and strikingly thick and robust. Fragrant flowers appear in early summer, growing in short corymbs. Fairly small fruits follow in late summer. First they are covered with grey felt-like hairs, later bare. Closely resembles ‘Greenspire’ but with thicker and firmer leaf. This makes ‘Savaria’ less susceptible to aphid and other infestations.
Tilia cordata 'Savaria' can eventually reach a height of 12 - 20 m, depending on the site and climate conditions.
Tilia cordata 'Savaria' is átlagos and can eventually reach a height of 12 - 20 m, depending on the site and climate conditions.
The right time to plant Tilia cordata 'Savaria' is during the dormancy period. In Western Europe, Tilia cordata 'Savaria' with root balls can generally be planted from mid-November to late April, although this depends strongly on the climatic conditions and the species of tree.
